Witnessing the birth of a superstar is always an exciting thing, and last night’s show at Mercury Lounge definitely reassured me that JESSICA 6 is a band with enormous starpower, specifically frontwoman NOMI RUIZ, whose stage presence and gracefulness is otherworldy and remarkably effortless.

Their debut album “SEE THE LIGHT” has been on repeat for me for the last few weeks, so I knew that this was a show I couldn’t miss.

After her cameo in the SS2012 MUGLER campaign, shoot with V Magazine, and good old-fashioned word of mouth, Nomi Ruiz and the boys of Jessica 6 have officially landed. How long it takes the rest of the world to realize that they are completely obsessed with this band is none of my concern— I’m already on the bandwagon.
